Improvement of the design methods of structural membranes for safer and more environment- friendly ultralightweight buildings with enhanced energy efficiency and resilience.
These are the targets of the new European ITN project that will involve CAEmate for the next four years.
After the good news of the acceptance of our project proposal for the improvement of computational models for refractory materials, we received with great satisfaction the communication that also the second ITN research project proposal has been accepted.
The acceptance of these two projects represents an unexpected opportunity of growth for CAEmate, that will allow us to work side by side with international experts, industries and universities.
The projects funded by the European Commission are of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks (ITN) type. These kind of projects are very unique funding opportunities which aim is to train highly qualified engineers, through the international collaboration of industry and academia. ITN supports competitively selected joint research training and doctoral programmes, implemented by partnerships of universities, research institutions, research infrastructures, businesses and other socio-economic actors from different countries across Europe and beyond.
The project aims to improve the scientific and technological understanding of the thermomechanical behaviour of structural membranes. The common goal is the development of engineering models capable of predicting their performances and allowing the rational use of structural membranes in lightweight buildings. This results in significant weight savings in the envelope and supporting structures, thus drastically reducing the environmental impact. In particular, the target is the development of advanced design methods for innovative, fully recyclable and low-carbon structural membranes.
CAEmate contributes to the project with the development of innovative software technologies and custom numerical simulation tools, based on its multidisciplinary competence in informatics and engineering.
We are recruiting the right person to work together with our team to achieve these goals. This engineer/researcher will also be awarded the PhD title at the end of the research project. So, if you are skilled, hard working, rapidly learning engineer, take a look at all our open positions.
